CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) — Firefighters responded to a grass fire in Mt. Diablo State Park early Friday.

Cal Fire SCU tweeted just before 4 a.m. that the fire burned about five acres on South Gate Rd and then stopping moving. By 7:18 a.m., Cal Fire said it was contained.

“Firefighters will remain at scene for the next hour ensuring full control and extinguishing all hot spots,” the tweet said.

Additional crews responded to what they are calling the Diablo Fire, according to officials.
