Antioch mom endangered children before 4 found home …
Puppies helped draw attention to an Antioch house where four young children were allegedly left neglected and alone, investigators and witnesses said. On Thursday, police found two 2-year-old toddlers, a five-year-old child, and an 8-year-old child alone inside a house that was later declared “uninhabitable” by a Contra Costa County Hazmat team. There were no adults present and three of the children were unconscious, according to police. The siblings were transported to hospitals for medical treatment, the Antioch Police Department said. “Once they were at the hospitals, they actually came to and were in good spirits,” police Lt. Joe Njoroge said. When their mother, Shante Carmen Alberty, returned home Thursday night, police officers arrested her on suspicion of child abuse. Alberty, 36, remained behind bars Monday.
