In today’s KRON4 Morning Buzz we remember 49er legend, Dwight Clark.

The man who made the most pivotal play in 49er history has died at the young age of 61.

Clark will forever be remembered for “The Catch.”

Even if it happened before you were born, every Niners fan knows about the legendary leap that launched the 49ers dynasty. In 1982 Dwight Clark caught Joe Montana’s sailing pass to beat the Cowboys and go on to win the first of 5 Superbowls.

Clark didn’t reveal he was battling Lou Gerig’s disease until last March. Fans got to see him about 6 months later when Joe Montana introduced him on Dwight Clark day at the game against the Cowboys.

His teammates talked about how they idolized him.

Jerry Rice said he tried to emulate him on and off the football field because he was a great individual.
