YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (AP) – Authorities are scheduled to formally change the names of some of Yosemite National Park’s most iconic attractions unless an 11th hour settlement to a bitter legal dispute is reached.

After midnight, the National Park Service says it will start placing temporary signs over long-standing signs directing park visitors to Curry Village, the Ahwahnee Hotel, Badger Pass Ski Resort and many other well-known structures and sites. The names of the attraction will also be changed starting Tuesday when Aramark replaces Delaware North as the park’s private vendor.

A Park Service spokesman said the changes were prompted by Delaware North’s breach-of-contract lawsuit. Delaware North owns

the trademarks to many of the names at issue.

The park service turned down an offer to use the original names pending a legal resolution.
