SAN JOSE (KRON) — A woman is scheduled to appear in Santa Clara County Superior court for sentencing after allegedly stealing a car with an infant in the backseat in San Jose.
36-year-old Terria Yvonne Artiga is being held on $150,000 bail.
The incident happened on Sunday morning when police dispatchers received a call that a vehicle was stolen with an 8-month-old baby strapped in a car seat in the back.
The father of the infant told police that he saw a female he did not know driving his vehicle south on Hopkins Drive between Story Road and Ocala Avenue in East San Jose, according to officers.
After searching the area, officers found the vehicle abandoned in a driveway on Mabel Avenue, about two blocks east of where the car was stolen.
According to police, the child was in the backseat, unharmed.
The woman was later booked after police found her from a description from the father.
