LOS GATOS (KRON) — A 31-year-old San Jose woman was struck by a car and killed early Monday morning in San Jose near Los Gatos, according to California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened around 5:09 a.m. on northbound state Highway 85 near the state Highway 17 connector, police said.
Just before to the fatal incident, CHP officers received reports of a female pedestrian walking along northbound Highway 85 with a backpack and flashlight.
While she was walking along Hwy 85, she was struck by a car just before the connector ramp. A second car then struck the victim, bringing her body onto the connector ramp, Lee said.
A Sig-alert was issued at 5:52 a.m. and the connector ramp was closed for nearly three hours as the CHP investigated the fatal incident.
The two cars that struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation.
The CHP is currently working to identify the victim.
