San Leandro police are looking for a woman who stole a Jack in the Box employee’s engagement ring inside the restaurant on Saturday.
The ring was inside a backpack at the restaurant located at 699 Lewelling Blvd.
The victim, an 18-year-old Hayward woman, told police she accidentally left the backpack in the dining area just before her shift. Minutes later, she realized she forgot the backpack, but when she went to get the backpack from the dining room, it was gone.
The employee checked security cameras and saw a black woman went into the restaurant, spotted the backpack, and exited the restaurant with it–and the engagement ring.
The backpack also had cash, her ID, and another gold ring inside.
If you have any information, you are asked to call the police at 510-577-2740 or 510-577-3230.
