SARATOGA (KRON) — The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a felony hit-and-run in which a pickup truck hit a woman and her dogs, according to Sgt. James Jensen.
Jensen said it happened at Dagmar Drive at Holiday Court in Saratoga at around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A resident, identified as Anne Palmer, was walking her two Labradors, “Sadie” and “Chudley,” when a Ford truck came around the corner and ran over both dogs, according to authorities.
The dogs were rushed to a veterinarian but had to be put to sleep due to the severe injuries.
Palmer fell to the ground and had moderate injuries. She was rushed to the hospital.
The suspect car is described as a newer Ford, with a long bed and a camper shell, which is a different color from the truck. The vehicle also had a crew cab and large tires, deputies said.
If you see the truck, you’re asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 408-299-2311.
