ROHNERT PARK(KRON) — A woman was attacked while walking home on Copeland Creek path in Rohnert Park Tuesday, according to police.

The woman was walking Tuesday evening around 6 p.m. on the north side of Copeland Creek Park just west of Seed Farm Drive when a man jumped out behind her and grabbed her.

According to police, the male then reached his hands down and started rubbing her thighs and crotch.  The victim was able to fight the man off and run away.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s with a medium build, short brown hair and was wearing a baseball hat, white t-shirt, gray shorts and was carrying a small black backpack.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is investigating the assault, and would ask that anyone walking on or around the Copeland Creek path please be watchful for anyone matching the above description.
