Woman arrested following security breach at San Jose airport

SAN JOSE (KRON) — A woman was arrested Tuesday night after she allegedly entered a secure area inside Mineta San José International Airport, airport officials said.

Airport Public Information Officer Vicki Day said that at about 5:15 p.m., a UPS airline employee spotted the woman on the south end of the airport near the cargo area. The woman was approached and detained by Airport Operations, and subsequently placed under arrest by San Jose police.


Day said that airport officials are investigating how the woman got into airport.

The security breach did not interrupt the airport’s schedule.

The woman was not believed to be carrying any weapons. Police have not released her identity.
