A 24-year-old woman has been arrested after a Salinas doctor was found bludgeoned to death in Nevada.
The body of 71-year-old Thomas Kirk Burchard was found earlier this month in the trunk of an abandoned car on State Route 147, near mile marker 14.
Police say Kelsey Turner was responsible for Bouchard’s death.
On March 21, detectives coordinated with members of the FBI Stockton Safe Street Task Force to arrest her.
The Clark County Coroner said Bouchard died from blunt force injuries to his head.
Burchard’s girlfriend, Judy Earp, told KLAS that Burchard came to Las Vegas on March 1 and was supposed to return to California on March 4.
When he didn’t return and she couldn’t get in touch with him, she alerted the authorities.
Turner faces one count of open murder.
She is currently awaiting extradition to Clark County.
