LIVERMORE (KRON) — Two people were killed and another two injured after a driver apparently lost control of his car and crashed into the back of an apartment complex on Murrieta Boulevard in Livermore Saturday evening.

A 40-year-old woman and a 14-month-old girl in the backyard died at the scene.

A 7-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy were transported to the hospital and are in stable condition.

Police suspect the 35-year-old driver was driving under the influence and was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

The accident is still under investigation.

Police have closed Murrieta Boulevard between East Stanley Boulevard and Holmes Street for the next several hours.
