SALINAS (KRON) — Police are looking for a woman who allegedly abducted her child Tuesday in Salinas despite not having custody rights, according to police.

Yvonne Chaboya is known to visit her 6-year-old son, Richard Martinez at an address in the 300 block of Katherine Avenue, police said.

Chaboya was reportedly last seen running west toward South Main Street Tuesday with the boy.

Witnesses became suspicious when the pair did not return.

Chaboya is described as an Asian woman, roughly 4 feet 1 inch tall and 125 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue pants and no shoes.

Martinez is described as a Hispanic and Asian child, roughly 4 feet 2 inches tall and 80 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue tank top, black shorts and black tennis shoes. Police believe he went with his mother voluntarily.
