PINELLAS COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – A woman is in jail on a prostitution charge after she tried to offer sex for money to a covert police officer, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
It happened on Thursday at the 3400 block of 4th Avenue South in St. Petersburg. Around 4 p.m. Jennifer Matthews, 44, came up to a van with an open window and tried to offer sex to the man inside, according to the arrest report. She said she’d perform oral sex on him for $3.
The man in the van was an undercover police officer.
Matthews was arrested and charged with felony prostitution. She has had two previous prostitution arrests.
After she was read her Miranda rights, she said she’d never agreed to have sex with the officer.
