SUNNYVALE (BCN) — A winning Powerball ticket worth more than $500,000 was purchased in Sunnyvale last month.
California Lottery officials said Giridhar Tumu purchased the winning ticket on Sept. 24 at the Quick Henderson Market at 1053 East El Camino Real.
The winning ticket, which matched five of the six winning numbers, won $554,313 before taxes.
Tumu told lottery officials he has been playing the same numbers 7-15-20-29-41 for about five years. The numbers are a combination of birthdays and other dates.
His winning ticket did not match the red Powerball number.
Tumu said he plans on investing his winnings in real estate and in other things that appreciate, according to lottery officials.
