SARATOGA (KRON) — West Valley College in Saratoga was evacuated and closed Tuesday while authorities investigate a bomb threat, according to campus officials.
Around 9 a.m., an anonymous letter was found by a student working the desk of the student center on campus, located at 14000 Fruitvale Ave., officials said.
The writer of the letter indicated overhearing a person threatening to bomb the college, according to Scott Ludwig, a West Valley College spokesperson.
The hand-written letter was then turned over to campus administration who deemed it a credible threat and closed the campus for the day.
Authorities are now sweeping the campus and all classes have been canceled for the day.
A similar incident caused the campus to be evacuated back in November 2014. The college was also put on lockdown in June 2015 due a report of an armed man on campus.
Further information on the threat is unknown at this time.
