PALO ALTO (BCN) — Utility workers have shut off water service for some residents of a neighborhood in Palo Alto Monday night to dig out and repair a leaking water main, according to city officials.

The city announced the service outage via the Nextdoor social network around 10 p.m., saying that a water leak had been detected in the 3000 block of Ross Road.

Crews are reportedly excavating the area, removing debris blocking the damaged main and repairing that section of pipe.

Utility officials expect the service outage to affect nearby residents for a matter of hours while the repairs are completed.
