LAFAYETTE (KRON)— A water main break was reported Wednesday night in Lafayette, according to police.

It happened just after 5 p.m. near Mt. Diablo Boulevard and Dewing Avenue.

Two turn lanes were closed on Mt. Diablo.

East Bay Municipal Utility District staff are working to repair the line and limit the flow of water. More repair crews are expected to arrive, according to spokeswoman Alison Kastama.

The break happened on a line that was made in 1936, Kastama said.

The pipe is expected to be repaired within the next four to six hours.

More road closures are expected for Wednesday night.
