WATCH: Trucker cuts off car in road rage incident, confronts driver

A truck driver in Phoenix took matters into his own hands after witnessing another driver weaving in-and-out of traffic during rush hour.

He got out of his truck in the middle of the highway to confront the driver while another commuter recorded the confrontation.

“This was just a normal commute,” said a witness, who did not want to be identified. “It’s slow stop-and-go along the I-10 until we got to 75th Avenue.”

The witness describes the scary scene.

“I see a small Dodge Dart,” the witness said. “It comes into the lane on my left very aggressively. But, what happened a second later literally had me saying a couple of expletives.”

His dashcam was rolling as he rolled into a forced stop.

“Semi cuts through traffic about a quarter of a mile and then swerves through the right lane to cut off the dodge,” the witness said.

Any approaching traffic had to stop or swerve around.

DPS tells CNN they got a few calls into 911 about this “unknown situation” just a few weeks ago.

“The driver of the semi is blocked in the Dodge, jumped out of his rig, and is now basically in a confrontation with the driver window,” the witness said.

And as the video gets closer, CNN can see the name of that trucking company–Turbo Express based in Illinois.

So, CNN called them and showed them the video. They sent CNN a statement backing their driver and the decision he made, saying the other driver pointed a gun at him. That’s why he went after the dodge.

They also said, “the incident will be reported to proper authorities.”

The problem is, according to DPS, it never was.

“The bottom line–whatever happened between the two just a few minutes before, it pales in comparison to what the semi did, taking matters into his own hands and endangering the lives of a number of other drivers. That’s a 10-ton truck weaving around cars during rush hour.”

If confronted by another driver on the road, authorities say make every attempt to get out of their way, avoid eye contact, and report it to 911.
