OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – The Houston Rockets dominated the first quarter in Game 6 of the NBA’s Western Conference finals on Saturday.
The Golden State Warriors dominated the rest of the way to stretch the series to the limit.
The Warriors have forced a Game 7 in Houston by outscoring the Rockets 64-25 in the second half of a 115-86 blowout win for Golden State.
The Rockets entered the second quarter with a 17-point lead before the defending champs took over the game in a bid to reach the NBA Finals for the fourth straight year.
Klay Thompson hit nine 3-pointers while scoring 35 points.
Houston had no answer for Thompson while Chris Paul sat out the game with a hamstring injury.
Stephen Curry added five 3s and 29 points while helping Golden State cool off James Harden in the second half.
Kevin Durant shot just 6-for-17 and still finished with 23 points.
Harden led the Rockets with 32 points but had just 10 in the second half.
Eric Gordon scored 19 points on 7-for-12 shooting while starting in place of Paul.
Game 7 is Monday.
