OAKLAND (KRON) — The Golden State Warriors have been nominated in five categories for the 2015 ESPY Awards, the team announced on Friday.
The NBA champions Warriors lead all professional sports teams with five nominations, while NBA MVP Steph Curry is tied with UFC fighter Ronda Rousey for three individual nominations.
Nominations include: Best Male Athlete (Stephen Curry), Best Coach/Manager (Steve Kerr), Best NBA Player (Stephen Curry), Best Record-Breaking Performance (Klay Thompson 37 Points In A Quarter) and Best Play (Stephen Curry’s 3-Pointer).
The ESPYs will take place July 15 at 5 p.m.
“Fans are currently able to vote by visiting ESPN.com/espys until July 15 at 5:00 p.m. Fans can also vote for Stephen Curry for Best Male Athlete on Twitter, using Stephen Curry’s first and last name along with #BestMaleAthlete. Retweets are also counted as votes,” the team said in a statement.
Although the nominees for Best Team will not be announced until Monday, July 6, it was announced on Good Morning America that the Warriors will be among the nominees.
