OAKLAND (KRON) — Golden State Warriors’ center Andrew Bogut will not be playing in the rest of the NBA Finals due to a knee injury he sustained Monday during Game 5.
Bogut will be out for six to eight weeks, according to officials with the team.
An MRI revealed that the impact resulted in bone bruises to the proximal tibia and distal femur of his left knee.
Bogut’s injury will not require surgery.
The center injured his left knee about 90 seconds into the third quarter of the Warriors’ 112-97 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He had to be helped off the court after the injury.
Bogut traveled with the team to Cleveland ahead of Game 6 after undergoing on MRI on Tuesday.
