MONTEREY (BCN) — Police announced Friday evening they have identified a man wanted on suspicion of homicide for killing a transient man and injuring another man outside of the Monterey Public Library earlier that morning.

Police are asking for the public’s help to locate Jesse Quiming, 32, who police consider armed and dangerous, according to police. Police described Quiming as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police responded to the incident just after midnight when a resident alerted them of a disturbance happening outside the library, located at 625 Pacific St., police said.

When police arrived, police found a 40-year-old man that had been fatally stabbed. Police also found a 22-year-old man that had been stabbed. His injuries were non-life threatening and he was taken to a hospital, according to police.

Both men are homeless and were attempting to sleep in the area with a group, when an altercation broke out, police said. Police are withholding the name of the homicide victim pending
