FAIRFIELD (BCN) — Police on Friday arrested a felon wanted on suspicion of narcotics sales after a standoff of about an hour at a home in Fairfield.
Fairfield man Ronald Newhauser, 53, was arrested at 2:34 p.m. outside a home in the 1300 block of Kansas Street.
A Fairfield police officer saw Newhauser enter the home at 1:25 p.m. Officers had tried to arrest Newhauser March 3 but allegedly he eluded them in a vehicle pursuit through Fairfield and Suisun City, police said.
Friday, officers surrounded the home and told Newhauser to come out. Newhauser attempted to run from the home until he saw the officers outside, according to police.
Newhauser continued to refuse until crisis negotiators were able to speak with him by telephone and convince him to come out.
Officers booked Newhauser into the county jail for offenses in the March 3 incident and for outstanding warrants, police said.
