SAN JOSE (KRON) — A VTA light rail train has struck a pedestrian near Parkmoor Avenue and Race Street in San Jose at around 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to VTA spokeswoman Brandi Childress.
A woman was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with unknown injuries. The light rail was occupied at the time of the incident, and there were no reported injuries.
The rail crossing gate was down at the time of the incident, as a Union Pacific train was also crossing in the area, Childress said.
It appears the woman walked through pedestrian gates during the time of the crossings.
The train was heading north on the Winchester-Mountain View line.
VTA has since restored service.
