SAN JOSE (KRON) — A Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light-rail collided with a car in San Jose Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred around 7:55 a.m. in the area of North First Street and Component Drive, according to officials.

The northbound VTA light-rail vehicle hit an Audi A4 sedan, which may have been on the tracks, officials said.

VTA was running a bus shuttle between the Karina and Bonaventura stations, but regular service has since been restored.

There were 40 people inside the VTA light-rail vehicle and at least two people inside the Audi.

One person in the Audi was injured, but officials did not yet know the extent of the injuries. No one in the VTA vehicle reported injuries.

The Audi was making a left turn in front of the VTA vehicle and was hit on the driver’s side, authorities said.

The collision has interrupted service along the Alum Rock-Santa Teresa and Winchester-Mountain View lines.

No injuries were reported following the crash.
