LOS ANGELES (AP) – If you think roller coasters are no big deal, try this. A 45-foot-long glass slide that sits 1,000 feet above the ground outside the U.S. Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles.
Starting this weekend, thrill-seekers can begin taking stomach-churning rides on what could very well be the scariest slide in the world.
For $8, riders can climb into the 1 ¼-inch-thick tube called the Skyslide, and take the nearly-straight shot down, except for a small turn at the beginning that causes riders to bump against the side of the glass.
The slide is part of a $50 million renovation that includes an open-air observation deck and a bar.
