COLORADO (KRON) — Smash Mouth vocalist Steve Harwell wasn’t feeling like an All Star and lost his cool after getting pelted with bread during a performance at the Taste of Fort Collins in Colorado on Sunday night.
Just as the band was starting up their finale, a few people in the audience started throwing slices of bread — some of which were thrown in Harwell’s direction.
“You throw one more piece of s- on f-‘ stage, I’m gonna come find your ass, I’m gonna beat your ass, whoever the f- you are out there,” Harwell shouted.
The 48-year-old San Jose native tried to make a move into the audience but a security guard blocked him from leaving the stage.
Mandah Crouch’s friend captured cell phone video of Harwell’s profane tirade. Crouch posted the video on her YouTube account and it has garnered about 30,000 views as of Monday afternoon.
“This is a family event. He called the crowd p*****? Hardly,” said Crouch.
The band continued to play the song All Star — which is featured in the kid-friendly hit movie “Shrek” — as children and adults sang along.
