SAN JOSE (KRON) — World-renowned competitive eater Joey Chestnut has some hungry competition biting at his heels. And this guys is his own backyard.
Matt Stonie, of San Jose, is making a name for himself loading up on everything from asparagus, birthday cake, and poutine.
But Sunday’s exhibition at the Daytona 500 in Florida, entered his name in the record books again. This time as the holder of the “Bacon Eating World Record” chowing down 182 slices in 5 minutes.
“Smithfield and I partnered up to help kick off the 2015 Racing season in a big way, by destroying any and all previous Bacon Eating Records in a 5 Minute All-You-Can-Eat exhibition!!,” he posted on YouTube.
