SOUTH CAROLINA (CNN) — A South Carolina boy is feeling better now after being teased at school over his new lunchbox, thanks to an act from his older cousin that went viral.

10-year-old Ryker had been looking forward to the first day of school for weeks, ever since he found a special cat lunch box on Amazon.

“I thought it was really cool because I like the cats flying up into galaxy space,” Ryker said.

He was excited to show off his new lunchbox, but when he got home that first day he was telling his mom he no longer wanted to take his lunch to school.

“Just because they said it, I felt like not taking it anymore,” Ryker said.

He says kids teased him about the lunchbox, making mean comments in the hallway.

“He said, is that a girl lunchbox or is that your sister’s lunchbox and I said no… nope!” Ryker explained.

That’s when his cousin David Pendragon saw Ryker’s mom’s post on Facebook.

“I just went on Amazon and looked for it and ordered it that day,” David said.

Its what he did next that went viral, catching the attention of more than 100 thousand people on Facebook.

David took the very same lunchbox to his corporate office in uptown Charlotte and snapped a picture. He told the story of his cousin to anyone that asked.

“In a world where you can be anything, the best thing you can be is kind. And I wanted him to see that and I wanted anybody who had forgotten that for a minute to see that,” David said.

David wants Ryker to know self expression is nothing to be ashamed of and neither is this lunchbox.

Ryker says he’s following in his cousin’s footsteps.

“I don’t think about the mean comments so that’s why I think I’m gonna bring it back,” he said.

Within the last week Amazon has sold out of Ryker’s lunchbox, twice.
