OAKLAND (KRON)—A large-scale memorial was held Monday night at Oakland’s Lake Merritt honoring the victims of the deadly warehouse fire.
KRON4’s Spencer Blake and Alecia Reid were there.
About 4,000 people are expected to attend the event.
Music and candles filled the vigil honoring the 36 people who lost their lives.
Kron4 spoke to a man who knew several of the victims of the fire.
“At this point, there’s so many victims, I don’t want to put out any names individually, because if I create one name, I’m missing another name,” said Matt Hummel.
Some emotions are running high at the vigil.
