A vigil is being held for a teenager who drowned in his school’s swimming pool on Tuesday afternoon.

Grief counselors have been on-hand during school hours, and on Wednesday evening, the community is coming together to remember the freshman.

He has been identified as Ben Curry.

A large crowd gathered at the vigil, which will be held in the school’s football field.

Students, friends, and people from the community were starting to gather at the school on Wednesday night.

Also, the memorial in front of the pool where Curry drowned continues to grow.

He was found at the bottom of the deep end on Tuesday afternoon.

Friends say the 15-year-old was kind and funny. He also loved sports and was an avid basketball player.

Friends have been dedicating sneakers to the teen.

The cause of death is still formally under investigation.

However, a suicide prevention hotline number is posted on his memorial.

Family friends and classmates are trying to process the freshman’s untimely death.

A friend of the family tells KRON4 Ben was a miracle baby, and his mother’s pride and joy.
