WESTERLY, R.I. (WPRI) – A couple of Rhode Island fishermen had their very own ‘shark week’ experience Sunday afternoon.
Fisherman Michael Lorello posted pictures and videos of the encounter to his Facebook page. In just a few hours after posting, it’s been shared more than 7-thousand times.
Lorello estimated the shark, which was six feet long, was caught about 3/4 of a mile from the shoreline around 12:30 p.m.
The video shows the fishermen hoist up the shark, which was still alive, and release it back into the water.
It appeared to swim away.
