GILROY (KRON)—A woman scared off a man who was trying to rob her while she was cleaning out her car in Gilroy Wednesday morning, according to police.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. near Clark and Crawford drives.

A man came up to the woman and pulled out a pistol demanding money, police said.

The woman screamed and fought off the man. He then left the scene in a pick-up truck.

Surveillance camera caught the truck driving away. Police describe it as a white, Toyota Tundra T-100 with a chrome-colored roll bar in the bed of the truck.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with a heavy build between 25 to 32 years old. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall as well as short hair and a light mustache.

The man was last seen wearing a blue, short-sleeved shirt and jeans.
