(KRON) — A water main break in Oakland has swamped streets and home owner’s yards along Fruitvale Avenue off of Interstate 580.
East Bay MUD crews are attempting to repair a 10-foot section of a 16-inch pipe that ruptured about 9 a.m. Friday.
The break sent large amounts of water down Montana Street and onto Adell Court.
Other property damage has been reported as well, but the extent is still unclear.

The water main break has traffic along Dimond Avenue being re-routed.
A sinkhole has opened up where the pipe burst.
About 10 homes and two apartment buildings have been without water since 9:15 a.m.
The cause of the break is still under investigation, EBMUD spokeswoman Andrea Pook said.
