MEXICO (KRON)—Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump accepted an invitation to visit Mexico Wednesday.

Mexican President Enrique Peno Nieto met with Trump and held a press conference with him.

Trump said that him and Nieto share five goals to achieve prosperity in both Mexico and the United States.

One of the goals is ending illegal immigration not just between the two countries, but other regions as well.

“This is a humanitarian disaster,” Trump said. “The dangerous treks, the abuse by gangs and cartels and the extreme physical dangers and it must be solved.”

Another goal for both countries is securing the border.

“We recognize and respect the right of either country to build a physical barrier or wall on any of its borders to stop the illegal movement of people, drugs and weapons,” Trump said.

Nieto and Trump also have the priority of dismantling drug cartels, moving weapons and funds out of the border.

He wants to strengthen North American Free Trade Agreement. Trump believes it does not reflect the realities of our world today.

Trump said he wants to keep manufacturing wealth in our hemisphere allowing both Mexico and the United States to work together.

“The bond between our two countries is deep and sincere and both our nations benefit from a close and honest relationship,” he said.

Trump ended his speech thanking the President of Mexico.

“It’s been a tremendous honor and I call you a friend, thank you,” Trump said.
