SAN JOSE (KRON) — A tip led police to arrest a man last week for an alleged stabbing outside a bar in San Jose’s Willow Glen neighborhood, nearly five months ago.
Joseph Hernandez, 29, of San Jose, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, providing false identification, drug possession, and two outstanding warrants for domestic violence and drug possession, according to police.
Hernandez allegedly stabbed a man outside Willow Den Bar, located at 803 Lincoln Avenue, on November 15, 2015 around 1:00 a.m.
Hernandez and other man bumped into one another at the bar, Hernandez then allegedly confronted the victim, according to police.
The two men argued outside and resulted in a fight, when Hernandez allegedly took out a knife and stabbed the victim at least once before he ran away.
The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Last month, police released photos and a video of the altercation to the public, seeking for help in identifying the suspect.

A detective later received a tip that named Hernandez as the alleged stabbed, police said.
On Saturday, Hernandez was arrested during a vehicle stop and allegedly gave a false name to an officer, who was able to figure out his true identity, according to police.
Hernandez was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail and is being held without bail, according to online jail records.Bay City News contributed to this report.
