ELIZABETH, N.J. (KRON)—A suspicious package found at a New Jersey transit station has now been detonated.
The package was reported on Sunday night by at a station in Elizabeth.
It stopped trains at the station.
Two people spotted the package around 9:30 p.m. EST and saw wires sticking out of it, said Mayor Chris Bollwage.
Federal, state and local authorities are investigating the package.

The FBI bomb squad is also on the scene.
No threat to public safety has been detected as the package is being investigated, Bollwage said.
Officials say they are taking the potential threat seriously.
