BERKELEY (KRON)—Firefighters are fighting a multiple-story structure fire in downtown Berkeley Saturday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 3:45 p.m. on Shattuck and University avenues, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
It is near the entrance to the UC Berkeley campus.
The fire is believed to have started in a court yard surrounded by empty businesses.

An five-story apartment building has been evacuated.
Police and firefighters are responding to the fire.
No injuries have been reported.
