SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — All of Southwest Airlines’ flights were delayed on Wednesday afternoon as the airline was experiencing a mass technology outage.
All of Southwest Airlines flights were delayed and the airline was working to resolve the mass error.
Southwest Airlines’ planes were on ground stop and could not depart, according to officials with Oakland International Airport.
Around 1:30 p.m. the system wide technical outage was resolved. The public should expect delays throughout the airline.
An hour later, around 2:30 p.m. there are still long lines for Southwest Airlines inside and outside of Oakland International Airport.

According to KRON4’s Alecia Reid, some people have been in line for nearly two hours. Customers have missed their fights and connecting flights.

Around 4:00 p.m., Southwest is still having intermittent outages but flights are still departing.
In the midst of the outage, the airline tweeted, “we are aware and investigating the current issues with our systems and we will keep the public posted as we have more information to share”.
