NORTH CHARLESTON, South Carolina (KRON/CNN) — A South Carolina state trooper, Benjamin Crocker, says every day on the job is different.

But on Nov. 8, one case stood out for him.

He didn’t know that on that particular day, his call to serve would involve helping save a 3-month-old baby.

During a traffic stop, Crocker said, a car pulled up behind him.

When he went to check it out, a mom inside was screaming that her baby was not breathing.

Crocker immediately grabbed the infant, laid him flat, and opened his mouth to clear his airway.

Crocker says he believes everything happens for a reason and that he was he in the right place at the right time for a reason.WHAT OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON:
