SONOMA COUNTY (KRON) — A Sonoma man, who was arrested at his home on Sunday on suspicion of sexually abusing two young boys, could be tied to more cases over a 30-year-period.

Healdsburg police tell KRON4 News that they arrested 68-year-old Paul Dwayne Kilgore the former athletic director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley on charges of suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and continued sexual abuse of a child.

The investigation started on August 27 when a concerned citizen reported inappropriate language and touching in the hot tub and shower area between Kilgore and two boys at Healdsburg’s Parkpoint Health Club.

Those two boys are 10 and 12 years old.

Healdsburg Police say since the arrest they have received dozens of calls accusing Kilgore of sexual abuse dating as far back as the 1980’s.

Police say they don’t know how many victims were involved but are actively looking for additional ones.

Through an investigation, it was discovered that Kilgore regularly took young pre-teen and teenage boys on outings to local recreation areas as well as on overnight trips where he served as some form of a mentor. It was alleged that during some of the outings some lewd acts were perpetrated against some of the children by Kilgore

The Bay Area Connection of San Bruno says they have more possible victims in that city.

The director of the Boys and Girls Club in Sonoma says they are cooperating with authorities.

Kilgore worked at the Boys & Girls Clubs for nearly ten years.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley released this statement:

“The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is shocked and saddened to learn that a former employee at the Club was recently arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse of a minor. We are deeply concerned by these allegations, and are fully committed to cooperating with the local authorities as they conduct a thorough investigation of this serious matter. The former employee has not been associated with the Club since 2013.”
