TORONTO, Canada (CNN) — Video has surfaced of a woman at the Toronto Zoo who jumped the outer fencing of a tiger cage to retrieve a hat that had fallen near an inner fence, according to CNN affiliate CTV.

The video shows a woman jumping over the first of two fences that separate visitors from tigers. She appears to be getting a hat that had fallen down.

Inside the pen, you can see in the video the beautiful and deadly Sumatran tiger becomes excited.

It quickly paces back and forth on the fence line until the woman climbs back up to the observation area.

Zoo officials said while it may look dramatic, the woman wasn’t in any real danger from the tiger.

Another reason for the two fences is distance. Staff doesn’t want people to be able to agitate the animals easily.

Animals, while in captivity, are still very dangerous.

Just this week, a zoo keeper in Palm Beach was mauled to death by the tiger she looked after.

People watching the stunt at the Toronto Zoo clearly understood the risk.

On the video, you can hear the woman being called a moron more than a half dozen times.

One guy, in particular, drives home the point that jumping the fence sets a really bad example for the kids who was watching.

The squabble even seems to get the attention of the tiger which has now calmed down.

Zoo staff said if you ever drop an item in a restrictive area, you should find a staff member and ask for help.
