Video circulating online shows two passengers kicking and shoving a young man off a Muni train in San Francisco, allegedly over loud music.
The video was first posted to Twitter by journalist Anna Sterling on Thursday. She wrote, “Whoa these two men just tried to throw this kid off the muni train because he was playing music too loudly.”
In the video, the two men are violently pulling and pushing the man out the doors of the train.
They’re attempting to throw him onto the street. You can see it clearly here. He’s just a kid. This is not okay. pic.twitter.com/BGT3kado26— Anna Sterling (@AnnaMSterling) August 31, 2018
Whoa these two men just tried to throw this kid off the muni train because he was playing music too loudly. He easily could’ve hit oncoming traffic. This is not okay. pic.twitter.com/NYIZilSmNL— Anna Sterling (@AnnaMSterling) August 31, 2018
Sterling claims the men were upset over the man playing loud music.
She later explained that a witness shared the footage with her.
And to clarify, I wasn’t the one taking the footage. This was sent to me by a witness at the scene. She got off at the same stop as the young man to offer help.— Anna Sterling (@AnnaMSterling) August 31, 2018
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident happened Thursday around 8:45 p.m. on a light rail train near Judah St. and 34th. Avenue.
