PLEASANTON (KRON)—It may be Thanksgiving, but Black Friday sales are already in full swing.

KRON4’s Lydia Pantazes reports at the Stone Ridge Mall in Pleasanton.

Thousands of people gathered to the mall on Thanksgiving.

The stone ridge mall opened at 6 p.m. but there are other department stores that opened earlier.

The JCPenney store opened at 3 p.m.

They’ll be open throughout the night with different discounts.

But smaller stores in the mall are also giving major discounts.

Some of of the busier stores include Sephora, Forever 21 and Macy’s.

KRON4 talked to shoppers about why they came out to shop on Thanksgiving.

“Because I was looking for the bargains for my family, is it worth it? Yes, it is worth it, I think it is worth it,” said shopper Ann Thomas. “There’s a lot of good sales both at JCPenney and at Macy’s, the lines are a little long but I think it was worth the wait.”

Thomas says she’s spent about a thousand dollars on Thanksgiving.

This is just the beginning, several stores that didn’t open today will be opening in just a few hours.
