BAY POINT (KRON) — Video shared by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department Friday shows the dramatic rescue of two boaters stranded near a small island off the Bay Point shore.
According to the sheriff’s department, the boaters’ boat crashed on the island and the boaters were stranded in knee-deep water.
Because of the shallow water, the U.S. Coast Guard was unable to access the boaters. The deputies were able to access the boaters by foot and call upon a sheriff’s helicopter to help with the rescue.
The boaters were rescued uninjured, the sheriff’s department said.
