SAN JOSE (KRON) — Between Friday and late Sunday night, VTA trains and buses will be swept continuously by explosive sniffing canines, like the ones that have arrived here from across the country to help beef up security for Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 7.
VTA said the security teams will try to keep a low profile but Levi’s Stadium has a kind fortress feel to it, with heavily armed troops stationed around the perimeter and military helicopters circling over head.
VTA expects to carry about 12,000 people to Levi’s Stadium on Sunday. And in what amounts to an extra layer of security, only those people who can prove they have a ticket to the super bowl can ride the light rail.
