LIVERMORE (KRON) — It’s the story of a real-life Santa Claus in the East Bay.
A man anonymously paid off gifts on-hold at a Livermore Wal-Mart.
The store manager told KRON4 that a real-life Santa wanted to focus on items for kids, like strollers, diapers, toys and the like. And he would skip over customers who had luxury items, something like a flat screen TV on hold there.
KRON4 spoke to one of those 16 customers who got this pleasant surprise on Thursday.
Natalie Avery had some gifts on hold for her three boys.
She and her husband wanted to keep them there, so she didn’t have to worry about hiding the gifts for too long before the holidays.
She had a $50 balance on her account.
When she got a call from Wal-Mart on Thursday, she thought it was a payment reminder as her final due date was coming up. But instead, it was a call to say her balance had been paid off.
Even more wonderful is that Natalie and her husband are themselves, givers.
They have one son together, and recently, became guardians of two other boys.
