SAN RAFAEL (KRON)—Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspected burglar in San Rafael.

The incident happened on Oct. 12 between 2:15 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. when a man forced his way inside Jackson’s Hardware Store on DuBois Street.

The suspect stole a number of portable generators, tools and construction equipment that cost up to $8,000.

The suspect was caught on surveillance video inside the store.

Police describe the suspect as an older white or Hispanic man wearing dark pants and a long-sleeve, dark-colored shirt or was wearing a jacket.

The suspect has short, light or gray-colored hair. There also appears to be dark colors in the hairline.

A SUV was spotted driving away from the scene at a high speed.

The car is described as a silver, gray, or green colored 4-door Ford or Lincoln SUV.

The wheels of the car had silver or gray metal wheels.
