SAN LEANDRO (KRON) — Scott Bradley was leaving his church in San Leandro when someone fired several shots from a high-powered pellet gun at him.

The weapon was strong enough to send a pellet penetrating into his skull leaving him with an wound above his eye nearly the size of a dime.

On Monday, he told KRON4 News that he’s lucky to be alive.

“I’m wrapping my head around being grateful I have an eye. Or it could have hit me in the soft spot of the temple and we’re not talking at all,” Bradley says.

“It’s in my head. It’s still not out,” Bradley says about the pellet lodged in his forehead.

Scott Bradley was shot in the head by a BB Pellet while walking out of the Methodist Church on Bancroft in San Leandro on March 25.

Bradley was one of three random victims shot by BB guns on March 25.

Two hours before Bradley was struck that Friday night, a man was shot with a pellet while standing outside a bar.

20 minutes later, a woman was shot in the hand near a bus stop.

The shootings have continued for about three months, since gunmen hit first began targeting cars in their violent shootings spree, according to police officials. Over 125 vehicles have had their windows shattered as a result.

Police are estimating damages to be around $60,000. The suspects have been seen driving a light-colored SUV while vandalizing parked vehicles with the use of BB guns.

Recently, the suspects have escalated to shooting towards people.

KRON 4’s Kate Cagle spoke to police, who they say the vandals are considered violent criminals. It’ll take a tip from the public to help take these violent criminals off the streets, police said.

“Thankfully no one was hurt this time, but three people have been shot so far in that city,” police said.

There is surveillance video from one of the incidents that happened last week.

“What was once maybe just a teenager or young adult prank by shooting out windows and cars, is now turned out to be a serious violent crime. People are being injured and we need to stop it”, San Leandro police said Monday.
